95' BMW E36 Convertible W/ Hardtop.

Hello Swapz,

Unfortunately, the time has come for me to sell my E36. A 94’/95’ BMW 320i VANOS convertible with a 5 speed manual gearbox and 168,000 miles on the dash. I bought it a year and a half ago as a project to exercise mechanical abilities while I waited to start a motorsport engineering course. This is my second E36 and I've come to know them very well. I’ve put lots of money and hundreds of hours into this car. It’s received nothing but the best care while I’ve owned it. It sticks to the road like glue, gets looks everywhere, and makes a great noise. I was planning to do a 3.0 stroker build, but ran out of time. Prime for a 2.5 swap though.

The car is a 2.0L straight 6 M50B20. It’s an OB1, but still has the CDV. Recently compression tested the car. I did it myself, so I have no paperwork for it but got over 170 on all cylinders. Should make you feel a bit better about the miles. Never drifted or abused.

Below is a list of repairs or modifications from memory, things may have been left out. The car has plenty of life left with proper maintenance. Just MOT’d last month.

*The car came with an aftermarket exhaust installed. It was rusted away, so I installed a factory one while I welded up the old one. The welds aren’t pretty but they hold. Exhaust sounds brilliant. Car comes with both exhaust systems

*The original keys to the car were stolen, so all the locks and ignition have been replaced. Ignition was replaced with a truly keyless push button start. Car has no EWS. Previous owner fitted a Clifford Concept 300 Thatcham 1 security system. Can lower insurance premiums. Subwoofer is mounted in the middle of the back seat in a factory pass through. Headliner was sagging off the hard top, so it has been removed and painted gloss black. I actually prefer it.
EXTERIOR/STYLING
+BMW style 32 wheels 8j front and 9j rear
+M3 tail lights with tinted turn signals

+tinted headlights with 6000k white HID projectors. *please note that these are in the proper projector housing and will not blind other drivers*
+Colour changing angel eye rings. Can be turned off all together.

NEGATIVES
-Missing side skirt, has been painted black. Can’t really notice.
-Paint is a 6.5/10. Looks good from a few feet away, but up close it can show its age. Only one tiny rust bubble which hasn’t expanded since I’ve owned it. Minor nicks, dings, and scratches.
-Soft top is knackered. Motor is broken, rear window doesn’t fit.
-Steering wheel has been replaced with an M3 wheel. It’s in rough shape however. I’ve been using an aftermarket NRG wheel. May include the NRG wheel for the right price.
-Small hole in driver seat
-Front left wheel is bent. This causes a wobble at high speed. I only potter around town so it’s never bothered me. Will be fixing soon, price is £1400 until I do.
