This is a 1997 Subaru Domingo micro van, imported from Japan and modified in the UK into its current “Micro Beetle” form. I have owned this for 2 years and used it daily as both a family run-around and for my ironing business, and it has never let me down, and even performed admirably during our last harsh winter.

This model is fitted with the more powerful and rare 1.2 fuel injected engine (the large majority of these vans in the UK coming with the standard 650cc engine), coupled with the ETVR automatic transmission. It is economical on fuel and cheap to run. Currently it has only 57k miles on the clock, but this will rise as it is still in daily use, and has 8 months left MOT.

These are an extremely rare find, especially in Wales where to the best of my knowledge there are only 4 in existence. An older 650cc variant of this model was sold in Swansea for £6,500 earlier this year, so the price I am asking here is in keeping with the uniqueness of this vehicle considering its colour coded throughout paintwork and matched interior, and its very low mileage for its age.

It’s incredibly flexible in every day life, being able to carry up to 7 people, but also the rear seats can be folded down in multiple combinations (or be easily removed) to create a surprisingly large cargo space. This car could easily be configured for a multiple of uses – as a daily car to ferry the kids to school, a micro camper van, or even use it for a business venture as a mobile shop/coffee stall/sandwich bar, gin bar, wedding vehicle, photo booth. The only limit being your imagination. My only reason for selling it is my business is close to outgrowing it and I now need something just a little bit bigger.

This is an incredibly cute and unique van that you can’t help but get noticed in. It puts smiles on people’s faces wherever you go and is great fun to take out and about. There is also a vibrant Facebook group and online community who are only too happy to help with any questions you may have, and despite being an import, parts and spares are comparatively cheap and still quite easy to source either online or via a Subaru dealer.
