4 FULL, 8MM FILM REELS & TINS.
Location: North West England - Warrington
Sell Price: £40
Description:
FOUR FULL, 8MM FILM REELS AND TINS/CANISTERS. 7inch Diameter.
1940's/50's/60's. All In Very Good Condition (Film & Tins/Boxes).
All these reels are used but the contents is unknown (except that one had a sticker that said 'Family?') and they all appear to be full reels or almost full reels.
These highly-collectable, vintage 8mm films are going for a bomb on auction sites at the moment. In fact just the empty tin alone can fetch a few bob as they are rapidly finding uses as cool storage boxes, vintage cinematography displays, Collector's Items or simply practicul and unobtrusive, 'stash' tins.
Three of the four tins/canisters are constructed of heavyweight metal which have rings and film company logo's embossed into them. One of these metal tins is finished in a hard-wearing, factory gloss-black paint and the other two are bare (unrusted) metal.
The Fourth reel is contained in a tin/canister/box that is entirely made from a heavyweight, waxed cardboard. It feels as sturdy as a plastic one would and also features embossed patterning on the faces.
It seems decidedly 1960's in construction and design and it sports a big, red & white triangular sticker on the front that reads: 'Safety Film' (see pictures).
