CBR 600 F3

Location: South West England - Trowbridge
Sell Price: £1,000

Description:

50,000 miles
Can mot for asking price or if a swap is agreed.
Purchased as a non runner in August, it now runs well.
I was going to fully strip it for respray but decided with the weather and no proper place to do it someone else can if they wish.
It was all scratched up and looking sorry for itself and certain parts were painted badly, the frame was done red but looked trash.

So far this is what I've done!

Rewired right switch gear.
Checked every wire, repaired soldered and wrapped some bad repairs.
Stripped to frame and motor and sprayed visible parts of the frame black.
Sprayed the 2 rear side panels and panel under the pillion handle.
Sprayed the pillion handle, stand, foot rests on the front.
Sprayed a section of the nose cone.
Adjusted cleaned and lubed the chain.
Tyres look good.
Cleaned and tidied it up a little, new indicators on the rear, I was going to spray everything black then decal the original set back on in a blue colour but for now I'm considering a bigger bike or a sell, if Christmas comes and I've still got it I'll finish the project fully in my style and keep it.

Pictures do it justice the belly pan is still in the condition it came in and so is the tank, part of the nose cone is original too and the left side engine cover is scratched and would need replacing if bothered about it (which I am)

I will post some pictures of before and after but more of how it is now rather than before.

It also would benefit from oil and filter change and if I keep it long enough I will also check and balance if necessary the carbs.

I have 3 or 4 cans of paint still plus 2 or 3 lacquer, some undercoat for the tank when I stripped it and some 800°C matt black to do the headers back as far as the end can, the exhaust is an original and hideously huge thing so the bike isn't obnoxious but I'd have been changing this for something a little smaller since it's not in top shape.

It was used for an RNLI charity event in 2022 and has been off the road since, as I said it was a non running bike in August so had the starter relay replaced, a brand new battery, a clutch diode and a fuel cut off relay all brand new in the last month.

Starts on the button with the choke on when cold or without choke when warmed, haven't rode it far but it felt fine at 50mph on a little farm track, I wouldn't risk any faster.

*EDIT*
I FORGOT TO MENTION IT NEEDS A NEW SEAT, The one on it has had a gel seat placed in for padding, it's great but they didn't staple the cover back down so it looks trash, I new cover and staple gun will set you back around £50 or another seat original from Ebay £35
