I was told and search on Scoobynet forum has proved that Subaru only made a handful of Yellow V3 Type R and were a limited run, in some places they are known as signature edition and other searches have said anniversary edition, so it is a rare car.
I am the third U.K owner previous was my brother, this can be verified on logbook and before him was a mature gentleman who owned the car since import.
The car had a forged engine built by a Mark Singleton of Worldwide Motors who were based in Newport, I did have paperwork for this costing circa 4k but has been placed, but on these cars you can always remove the sump to have the internal s checked.
Mileage on the shell at time of rebuild was around 59-60k
As standard red top engine with higher Rev limit of 8000 5 speed close ratio box with DCCD (TY752VB5CA) Forged Pistons/Rods Crank Reground Cosmetic head gaskets fitted New big end/main bearings Cam-belt changed along with major service at 63920 miles
Always ran on Castrol Edge 10-60 oil with recommended filters, all receipts & invoices present for the service work during my ownership.
Customised Reverse inlet manifold. Inlet manifold gas flowed by Chessman Engineering. Roger Clark 11mm thermal spacers along with OE gaskets & longer bolt kit. Custom made pipe run hot side heat wrapped. Carl Davey wedge welded to front of manifold and powder coated in chrome. Pole Positions custom bracket for Re-positioning the alternator.
Flipped Intercooler, aiding in shorter pipe run. Intercooler sprayed with a light coat of black radiator paint. Full size Alloy Rad with Twin 10-inch fan set up, Push/Pull Air system. Throttle coolant bypass also done. Newage Power steering pump with remote bottle. Custom 3 port oil catch tank with breather. HKS super flow air filter with cold air feed & resonator delete. HKS SSQV dump valve. Genuine Samco Sport hoses. Up-rated Japspeed silicone intake pipe. Up-rated 3 inch Sports cat downpipe. Ninja 2 side angled back box. Genuine ARC cooling panel. Spec-R polished water filler cap.
Version 5 Type R Turbo fitted, IHI VF28 turbo running as they come with 1 bar boost. Standard 6s 3plug ecu, Relocated in the glove box. Has a boost gauge also fitted.
Light weight 18 inch Inovit Tarmac alloys. Light weight D1 spec racing lug nuts in blue. Matching valve caps in blue. Black mudflaps.
STI carbon fibre front strut brace. Tein Super Street Coilovers with 16 levels of dampening. Pillow ball strut tops front and rearCusco bolt inoint dash dodger roll cage. Interior sound proofing removed.
Newage 4 pot front Brembo callipers with redstuff racing pads. Newage 2 pot rear Brembo callipers with Ferodo racing DS2500 pads. Dot 5.1 high performance brake fluid. Front have 330mm EBC dimpled & grooved brake disc, not sure on rears. Core of discs sprayed in VHT paint to prevent rusting. Callipers were refurbed, Pistons were machine polished and genuine Brembo seals fitted along with new high intensity bolts/washers. STI V6 rear hub conversion for simplicity of bolting on rear Brembo callipers. (No brackets needed) The lip on backing plates was also removed therefore any size discs can be easily fitted & hubs were sprayed matt black.
Smoked crystal Head lights. Smoked crystal side lights. Smoked side repeaters & indicators. Carbon fibre Teardrop mirrors. Carbon fibre grill badge. STI V6 Honeycomb 3D grill. Modified front bumper to suit FMIC, fitted with mesh grill & STI badge. JUN style front splitter. Smaller plate on front with Tegiwa bracket, plates are carbon fibre 3D gel. 6K Xenon H.I.D kit with L.E.D Xenon side lights. High rise spoiler with brake light. Locking Aero catches with spare keys. Blue 23MM bonnet raisers. Aero blade wipers. STI V8 main bonnet scoop with under tray removed. I.C Delete (Wiring untouched) Aircon Delete. Carbon Cannister Delete.
Electric windows with Tinted glass all round. 13 Inch Dished Carbon Fibre effect steering. Slim line snap off Kit. Red aluminium gear knob and lighter. Prodrive floor mats. polished STI pedal set. Lockwood heater display and also I have fitted white Speedo dials. Various interior plastics wrapped in Black textured carbon fibre. Original Suede bucket seats with 555 engraved in good condition for age.
Considering it the age of the car and it being a high performance car it’s in very good condition.
I have always Run the car on V-power fuel and let it warm up and cool down accordingly, I have treated this car with respect and it has been my pride and joy for a long time, Only used as a week end car occasionally, you won’t be disappointed in this car, a genuine straight clean car.
