Description:
1993 BMW e36 for swaps. Always been reliable, starts straight away everytime, never skipped a beat for me at all. Had new brake shoes earlier this year as well and the car has remote central locking and an imoboliser on a key fob. Has MOT until June or July 2017 (I will check which month it is) only advisories were; handbrake is at the maximum travel (may just need adjusting), rust appearing underneath (this didn't show up on 2015 MOT so is very minor, and washer bottle not spraying (I forgot to fill the reservoir up, my bad).
Other bad points:
Drivers window doesn't work, motor is fine but the glass doesn't seem to follow the tracks and jams on the way back up.
Brakes need a bleed, but work fine, the pedal just has a bit of travel.
Also wants an oil service.
Power steering can get heavy on the cold mornings, but it soon loosens back up.
Body is a little tatty with the odd rust spot but really doesn't look too bad at all I don't think, and interior loves to creak every now and again, it is 23 years old, but I can't fault the motor on it at all.
I may get round to doing the brake bleed and oil service this month if I get a chance at all.
Although this car has a few minor bad points, they're all easy/quick fixes and it doesn't take anything away from the reliability this car has, it's never let me down, and really doesn't pull too badly for a 1.6 either.. Only wanting a change because I want something I can get my push bike into a bit more comfortably like a small van would be ideal.
