1,796cc Twincam Mini Estate
Location: South East England - Bexhill-on-Sea
Swap Value: £4.000+
Description:
This is a 1979 Leyland Cars Mini Estate (Traveller), it has a removable round/bull nose front end, coilovers and billit ally 4 piston calipers, with 10" Mamba alloys all round. There's an aluminium swirl pot in the boot to keep fuel going when cornering . It also has a custom subframe to mount a 120BHP Rover twincam motor.
I've had her over a year, and haven't used her much. I bought her in rough condition and planned to restore her but other cars have since taken priority.
UPDATE; 27/02/2017, The car has since gone through a full MOT and had some major works done (passed with no advisories what so never after failing on 6 items).
Rear drivers side subframe mount was corroded and has since had the whole corner cut out, boxed and repaired with 1.8mm steel, and the whole underside has been undercoated.
The exhaust was removed as there was a blow around the manifold which has been welded.
one of the tyres was near the legal limit and has been replaced, she has all 4 of the same Falken tyres (165/70/10)
A perished steering rack gaitor and an outer CV boot were found and replaced (CV joint replaced for good measure)
Finally the handbrake was out of efficiency which has now been adjusted.
Other things have been fixed to get it ready for daily use, new bulbs and a rear lense cover, some of the wiring has been refined and tidied.
I've booked the car in for bodywork as it needs some dents pulled, scratches and cracked paint sanded back, etc. I only have the budget for panel beating and primer but I think it would really bring the bodywork together.
