Description:
Looking to swap my Mercedes CLK55 AMG for something with 4/5 doors as I have to take my 3yo daughter to nursery twice a week and it's a pain in the a**e with a 2-door car getting her into the child seat in the back of the car every time!
The good parts - Seriously fast car. It was remapped about 5 years ago and has a 0-60 time of 4.9 seconds.....seriously quick!
Has 4 new Michelin Pilot Supersport 3 tyres (£150 each) which were purchased in April 2017 and have since done around 4,000 miles so plenty left on them (I only use the car to take daughter to nursery and go to work, so my daily round trip is 20 miles)
The original Mercedes AMG alloys were also refurbed last year so look brand new.
The first thing I did when I bought the car was swap out the Valeo radiator for a new Behr..... you can read about this on Mercedes forums....the Valeos could eventually leak and damage the engine which could write-off the car, so there was absolutely no way I was going to risk it. Had a new Behr rad fitted at a Mercedes specialist garage and now the engine is bomb-proof!
The bad points....
The passanger electric seat controls seem to have stopped The seat still heats but you can't move it backwards and forwards with the buttons. As it's the passenger side and not the drivers, it's never bothered me enough to get it fixed.
The wind-screen wiper stalk seems to have a loose connection. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. I've been quoted £280 to get the stalk replaced, but I normally just twist the stalk a few times until it eventually works. The indicators work fine (up|down) it's just the wiper element when you twist the stalk that seems to have the bad connection.
There are a few marks and scrapes around the car which is typical of a car of this age, nothing major.
