Description:
Mk1 fabia VRS for swaps.
Bought as a non runner project and now is complete.
Now have 3 little ones so a larger car/People carrier is highly desirable! Something along the lines of a zaf gsi etc
To get it running to a roadworthy standard I have fixed/replaced the following:
New radiator
Intercooler and boost hoses
Rear calipers (also have brand new apec discs and pads for new owner)
Turbo (upgraded to the mk4 Garrett unit instead of usual troublesome fabia kkk unit) and new gaskets etc
New cam belt and waterpump
New thermostat
New oil and oil filter
New bulbs and fog light units
New passenger side window regulator
New battery
New heater resistor
Led numberplate lights
Led sidelights
Led Nighteye headlights (hi and low beams)
NSF Wheel bearing
NSF outer track rod end
Is now mot'd (jan 11th) and roadworthy. Boost well and pulls strong, all new parts seem to be doing their jobs :) . The following day it did develop a knock off the front passenger side (without looking I'm guessing maybe loose rad pack or possibly top mount? Easy job either way)
Bad points are that the bodywork let's it down. Previous owners ex keyed it and few random dings etc.I was going to originally sand it all down and rattlecan it like Matt black or something but over past few months the silver has grown on me and couldnt bring myself to do it but bodywork is out of my wheelhouse so I'm afraid I wouldn't be able to save it myself. The heater motor also hums a bit so I bought a new motor to go with it but have since read that it's possible that it's just got a few leaves etc in it making it hum, will sort this if I get the chance. Either that or replace the motor
Will be cleaned out as best as can be but the seats are the usual white VRS seats so they will be grubby! Might even dye them black if I get the chance
Has had a KillAllWipers rear wiper delete and have an brand new egr delete for it but was going to get a mapped ecu with it deleted from ecu first before fitting it.
Will have original VRS alloys on or these genuine 17" 8j & 8.5j Rota grids with nearly new Michelin primacy 3 and pilot sports (450 quid worth of tyres!) for right deal
Looking for something roadworthy with a good ticket on it. Like this has, preferably German (bmw usual stuff or mini, vw, audi etc) diesel a plus but not essential or a Vauxhall (zaf gsi) Will need to be R reg or newer as I have a private plate that will be going onto new car. Again i stress now that I've got 3 little ones a larger car or people carrier would be desirable but must tickle my pickle, I'm not overly interested in a beat up standard diesel zafira. Not saying mine's a showcar but except the slight knock as mentioned above it is 100% mechanically sound.
