Description:
2003 (52 plate) Bugeye Subaru Impreza WRX STI. It's currently running 400bhp and 400lbs torque and it has had the best of everything on it in terms of parts. I'm wanting to buy something that doesn't cost quite so much to run and maintain. I built the engine myself (I'm a mechanic with lots of experience in Subaru's including engine work).
The spec is as follows:
SCD 2.5 block
Mahle pistons
RCM conrods
Cosworth race bearings
Cosworth 11mm head studs
Cosworth head gaskets
New valves and seats
Uprated 11mm Subaru oil pump
Subaru water pump
RCM/Gates timing belt kit
Subaru gasket and seal kit
Of course the blocks and heads have been machined too.
The engine as it is will handle a safe 450bhp. I chose not to have it pinned or close decked as I have read about many failures, it's pretty hit and miss when you do this and I wanted a reliable car. When I built the engine I thought 450bhp and 450lbs of torque is plenty for the road (I'm sat at 400 now and you have to be awake for that lol).
The cars mileage is 102k and the engine has around 8k. I think it has had 6 owners but not sure. 3 of those has been my family.
Other modifications are:
SC42 turbo
Hyperflow fmic
Hyperflow inner wing induction kit
650cc injectors
Fuelab fuel pressure regulator
Walbro 255lph fuel pump
Scoobyclinic silicone intake pipe
Apexi AVCR boost controller
Apexi 3-port boost solenoid
HKS dump valve (can be used with or without)
Exeedy Organic Clutch (can't remember the max torque rating but it's way past the 450lbs I'd planned it for)
RCM GT spec headers
Turbo-back Milltek 3" exhaust system
