Description:
2002 Volkswagen Golf 1.9 GTI TDI Exclusive PD300 (Modified PD150) - MOT APRIL 2019
Here we have my Reflex Silver 5 door Golf MK4 GTI TDI Exclusive 1.9 PD300 (Modified PD150) with 300HP and 500NM torque. First registered in November 2002 with 3 previous owners (not including myself). I have personally owned the vehicle since July 2011 (160K Miles), 7 years later we are on 209500 miles but still going very strong and due to change as in daily use! In all honesty this is a tough decision that I feel like i'm going to regret but i'm offering the car for sale despite knowing it like the back of my hand! Last year I fitted Firad 80%+ Nozzles to the injectors, a GTB2660VKLR water cooled ball bearing turbo mated to a cast manifold, the turbo is originally from a Mercedes E350CDI Bluemotion and it has had a BMW VK exhaust housing fitted for v-band exhaust fitment along with genuine BMW gaskets/clamps. While the turbo was away for modification it was also converted to vacuum actuator. The exhaust system is a custom full 2.5" straight through system from A.L. Welding in Portugal with a beautiful tip.
It has MOT until April 2019 and recently it has had new track rod assemblies on both sides, new driveshafts/cv joints, Meyle HD ball joints and 2 new tyres. I have spent much time with the car and performed many repairs during my ownership. Last year I also had to fit an uprated repair window regulator runner clips in the drivers window.
Brand new 3 piece sachs oem clutch kit + brand new discs and pads all around (10/10/2015).
Just been fully serviced with VW spec 5w30 505.01 specification oil and filters all around to ensure the cam lobes stay in pristine condition, using incorrect spec oil can cause costly damage and has always been a priority to ensure the health of the engine.
The car itself has been nothing but reliable and features the most powerful variant of the PD TDI engine within the MK4 Chassis, which makes for effortless driving and great torque response. I believe the car has many many many more miles left in her and will hopefully go to a good caring home to ensure this is the case. The new turbo spools up with power kicking in at around 2400RPM and torque delivery is impressive.
Since owning the car it has wanted for nothing having performed subtle modifications (suspension, tuning) that I would considered as OEM+, keeping as close to standard as possible using genuine VW OEM parts where possible. It has been regularly serviced with oil and filter changes and the gearbox was rebuilt and oil replaced around 13K miles ago.
The bodywork is nothing to shout about, there is some surface rust beginning on the front arches/wings but perfectly treatable for now or they can be replaced as they are bolt off, bolt on panels. There is also some rust around the boot handle which is a common area. The car has never seen a mop so i'm pretty sure it would clean up nice and with a little TLC could be looking as good as new. Perfect aesthetics just haven't really bothered me all that much. There are a few small dinks on both sides, typical supermarket dents and nothing too severe, benefits from a good clean! I have included as many pictures as possible to try and give a fair idea to the condition of the car but please don't expect concourse despite being well looked after mechanically. The boost pipes to the FMIC could be tidied up a little for aesthetic purposes but they function just fine.
My reason for sale is that I am currently raising business capital and no longer need the vehicle but if you have anything you think I might be interested in, drop me a message and i'll listen, perhaps we can come to a deal.
There are a few little niggling problems with the car that i've also included in the "bad bits section" so there are no surprises for the new owner.
Here are a few more detailed specs of the car:
Engine/Drivetrain:
* 1.9 PD TDI 150 BHP (ARL Engine code) which is mechanically sound and very quiet (no tapping! good injector balance, no cam wear... the usual suspects to check for) for the mileage of the car. Of course now running a little more power!
* Dyno printouts available at 300HP+ and 384 LB ft of torque. Also has launch control modification enabled and currently running 2.2 bar boost, turbo is good for 2.7 bar), also providing upto 65+MPG if driven with a light foot on a motorway run. Average MPG for town Driving/short runs is around 39MPG with little spirited driving even with this turbo and injector setup.
* 6 Speed DRW Gearbox with the longest ratio gears possible for economy and speed to suit the ARL engine code (One of the later gearbox's developed). Thoroughly rebuilt around 10000 miles ago.
* Front mount intercooler + Aluminium boost piping.
* Firad 80%+ Injector Nozzles
* GTB2260VKLR Water cooled ball bearing turbo converted to Vacuum with BMW VK exhaust housing by Turbo custom, Genuine Mercedes Water return pipe and genuine BMW exhaust/turbo clamps and gaskets.
* Custom HEL braided oil feed and stainless steel return lines.
* 4 Bar MAP sensor
* Allard EGR Delete pipe (£50+p&p) + Full vacuum line simplficiation carried out.
* 2.5" Turbo-Back stainless steel exhaust system with v-band fitment by A.L. Welding Portugal (Sounds great with a nice howl and ball bearing spooling is fun to hear when you shut the engine down).
* Oil changed with VW 505.01 Specification regularily despite the car being suitable for "Long life, 20000 mile service intervals).
*20mm Creation Motorsport Engine Riser Blocks
Suspension:
* Eibach Pro Sportline Shocks and Coil Springs (50mm drop at front, 30mm at back compared to standard - £126.98).
* Meyhle HD Ball Joints.
* Track rod assemblies.
* JRE Driveshafts.
* Eibach 22mm front and rear anti-roll bars (£190).
* New wishbones (£40) + Solid Audi TT front and rear bushes (£31.24).
* Seat Leon Cupra R front suspension top mounts (£45.08).
* Skoda Fabia VRS rear axle bushes.
Interior:
* Heated Black Leather Front Seats and leather all around.
* Illuminated red leather LED gearknob with GT TDI logo (£53.40).
* Vinyl Wrapped 3M Brushed Steel interior trim (Walnut effect underneath) on door handles, radio trim.
* Boot liner.
Exterior:
* Reflex Silver Paintwork, few dinks here and there, a tiny amount of surface rust in common areas but all in all not too bad for a 12 year old vehicle! I did manage to scrape my van along the offside rear wheel arch.
* 16" VW Montreal 2 Alloy wheels with 4 tyres with good tread (plus good spare wheel in the boot!).
* 2 * Cree LED Reverse lights (Bright!).
Miscellaneous/Electronic modifications:
* VW Gamma Radio with 6 Disc CD Changer.
* Uprated speakers all around with crossovers installed within doors.
* Heated Side Mirrors/Rear View Window.
* Remote Central Locking.
* Cruise Control.
* Climate Control.
* Steering Wheel Radio Controls.
* Electric windows front and back.
* Reverse Parking Sensors.
* ESP/ABS.
* Miles to empty, lit needles features programmed to VDO full FIS Instrument Cluster.
* Fan Resistor modification with aluminium heatsink (to ensure the fan operates correctly although the engine has never once got hot enough to have the 2nd (high) fan speed.
* Enabled beep on locking of the car.
* Anti-hijack enabled (Auto locking doors enabled once over 10mph to prevent unauthorized entry to vehicle).
* Comfort Closing Windows programmed to CCM Module (reversible programming method, not automatically done via certain software).
* Recently had the wiper motor arms serviced as they were starting to seize up a little. Freed up, greased and will be good for another 12 years! :).
* New Battery last winter still with warranty.
Chassis:
* Witter tow bar fitted.
* Genuine VW Roof Rack fitted
Bad bits:
* Currently no rear view mirror. Stick on replacement would be suitable but the car originally had an auto dimming rear view mirror and rain sensing wipers... this could be re-attached with some secure epoxy to bond it back to the screen.
* Bonnet stone chipped (lots of motorway miles and slipstreaming behind lorries!).
* Some slight rust and paintwork attention required on the front arches (and now the rear since I managed to rub the van against it)... (I do have an arch to go with it for the worst side).
* Slight boost leak from aluminium boost pipe which has caught on the drive shaft (pancake pipe location).
Happy to load the vehicle onto a car transporter/trailer for nationwide delivery (can arrange a quote from a friend if messaged before hand to arrange) upon clearing of full payment.
