Swap Value: £1.000+
Description:
The 417Wh battery will give you up to 40 miles of electric pedal power – perfect to get you over those peaks. And when you’re back after riding, a charge time of 6 hours means the Vulcan E will be ready to go again in no time. Power is delivered by a rear hub motor with torque sensor, for smooth and responsive assistance when you need it. As standard on all Carrera E-bikes, the Vulcan comes with an integrated smart control system that protects the battery from overheating, short circuiting or overcharging. The battery re-charges in just 6 hours, and comes with a full 2-year / 500 charge warranty.
The electric motor of the Carrera Vulcan is controlled via full LCD Suntour Head Unit. The detachable head unit allows you to choose from one of 4 assistance modes, depending on the level of support you require. The unit also allows the user to view additional data such as Speed and Mileage to provide additional data whilst riding. The display is located centrally, directly below the line of vision whilst riding, allowing you to keep your attention on the trail.
Add in a lightweight aluminium frame plus 9-speed Shimano Altus gears and you’ve got a bike that offers seamless climbing. For the descents, there’s the Vulcan E’s strong hydraulic disc brakes. A Suntour Suspension fork with 120mm of travel allows you to tackle trails with ease, while double wall alloy rims and Kenda tyres provide excellent grip on the ride down.
Battery
With a large battery capacity of 417Wh / 11.58Ah and a range of up to 40 miles per charge the Vulcan is very capable of going the distance. With a frame-mounted battery on the Vulcan E’s down-tube, weight is balanced against the rear mounted hub motor providing an improved ride quality, over those with rear-mounted batteries.

Sensor
The power control in the system is delivered courtesy of a premium Torque sensor, which gradually eases the power in and out in response to your input, providing a natural ride characteristic and a real reason to upgrade from more basic speed sensor systems. The quality of the Torque sensor is really notable when accelerating out of corners and make small, or when making tighter intricate manoeuvres.
