This delightful and adorable book tells the story of a little girl named Ruth whose brother has just left to go to university. Feeling quite lonely, her mother and father take her to Battersea Dogs & Cats Home to choose her very own new companion, a beagle puppy named Misty!

After discovering Misty's energetic nature, Ruth decides to enter Misty into the local fair's Best in Show competition! But, after the next-door neighbor's window is smashed during training, they are banned from competing! Will Ruth manage to change her mother's mind before the show begins? And have her and Misty got the skills to win gold?

This book has a few minor scuffs at a few of the corners and a small crease at the back which is visible on the photos. This book also contains interesting information about Battersea Dogs & Cats Home and how they begun! It is also filled with the do's and don'ts of looking after a dog or a cat, which would be very helpful! And even a tasty recipe to cook a treat for your dog!
