Swap Van for motorhome
Location: Yorkshire and the Humber - Sinnington
Swap Value: £4.000+
Description:
My van was purchased 2/3 years ago and was orginally a minibus, converted by someone else for festivals - he even put a generator on the roof for 240v electric without hookup - for his wife's straighteners!
Anyway, after the first year of use, we wanted to change the setup - to make better use of the space.
So I ripped it all out and started the interior again. it's very bespoke and suits us - 2 adults and a young girl.
But anyway, here is the list of all the details - I will take photos later and email.
Ford Transit bus LWB - 2.5 Di 76HP Diesel, smiley edition.
1996
140,000 miles.
The bullet proof banana engine, will go on for a long time if maintained - which I have and also the previous owner did.
Private plate - H15 TCG
10 month MOT - 1 or 2 advisories.
Starts first time, everytime.
Does around 350 miles per tank.
Recently had new clutch and 80K gearbox.
New thermostat fitted, about to have new radiator.
Everything in engine is sound.
Oil is clean and rarely needs topping up.
Inside:
2 fixed beds - a small double and a childs bunk above it.
1 toilet, in a little room. it is a tight squeeze for an adult, but we manage.
On that note, I am 5ft 9" - so bed and toilet built with that in mind, so if you're much bigger then you may have to adjust things around.
I have panelled and insulated around the van, including floor - then laid the floor with vinyl and carpeted the walls.
The roof is a high top, with an extension, so you can easily stand up in the van.
I have made a little custom built kitchen, with a double stove and gas bottle underneath.
There are various cupboards around the van and a storage under the double bed - accessed from under the bed and from the boot - where I then keep the spare wheel.
I have changed the double cabin front seats into a swivel chair, they turn around and then are used for dining.
There is a pullout table for eating.
There is a fitted central heating unit that keeps the van toasty as and when required - gas bottle fitted behind the toilet.
As mentioned there is a petrol generator on the roof - I have since disconnected and planned to bring down eventually.
There is a ladder on the back to access the roof.
it had 240v hookup fitted, all works fine.
there is a second battery fitted in the engine, it is charged by the alternator, but nothing interally runs from this currently - although you could easily do something with it.
We just use rechargable magnetic lights.
There is a fridge, with a custom made 2-way box - but I haven't had time to hook this up. But I saw the fridge working before I acquired it. We have got by using an electric coolbox - which I would also include.
There is a pullout awning - but unfortunately this is broken. the legs got mangled on a very windy day and I don't know if it is salvagable.
All the tyres are 1 year old and have loads of life left in them, including the spare.
I think that is about everything.
We use the van all the time and it gets maintained.
I would to swap for something bigger, if you would like something smaller.
