Manufactured at the Motomachi plant, Japan in June 1996, this car will be fully legal to export to the US next month, and is the very first month of the facelift design (revised headlights, taillights and interior, dash etc). This spec was only ever available in Japan.
1 of 71 Alpine Silver facelift cars produced worldwide. The story goes that as this was the first month of the facelift design, and Alpine Silver was being discontinued, Toyota used bodies already painted in this colour before changing to Quicksilver for later facelift cars, making this a very rare combination, especially when you also consider it’s a factory twin turbo, big diff and big brake car, with dealer option spats and side skirts - it could even be 1 of 1!
The car has a few subtle modifications including:
-BBS LM wheels - 9 inch in front and 10 inch in rear. +42 front and +50 rear
-Forge 15mm wheel spacers
-ARP extended wheel studs
-BC Racing BR series coilovers
-Cusco strut brace
-Whifbitz adjustable anti-roll bars
-Superpro polybush kit
-SRD Racing undertray
-Blitz Nur Spec R catback exhaust
-Whifbitz deep core side mount intercooler
-HKS SSQV blow off valve
-Blitz turbo timer
-AEM wideband air/fuel monitor
-Chris Wilson fuel cut defender
-Walbro 255 fuel pump
-HKS panel filter
-HKS oil filter
-EBC ‘Red Stuff’ brake pads
The car was imported in 2015 and I’ve owned it since 2016. In that time I’ve enjoyed every minute and have covered around 30000 trouble free miles.
Valve stem seals replaced in 2019 after it was becoming evident that they were starting to degrade with age and pass a small amount of oil. At the same time the water pump, cam belt and tensioner were replaced - not because they needed to be, but just made sense to do so while the front of the engine was apart. The gearbox fluid and diff oil was also drained and replaced. The turbos were inspected at this time and given a clean bill of health. Crank pulley and auxiliary belt replaced this year. The car has had regular oil and plug changes at least once a year or every 5000 miles, and has only ever been run on Shell V-Power in my ownership.
Stacks of paperwork - I’ve kept every invoice or receipt for any work or parts the car has had during my ownership. I even have all the Shakens (Japanese MOT) from every year before it left Japan.
With the exception of the front bumper, which replaced a Bomex item that was installed when I purchased the car, the paint and body are original and in fantastic condition, with no signs of previous accident damage, and not a hint of corrosion anywhere. The interior is spotless and in perfect condition, and the car has never been smoked in. The car is washed after every time it comes out and has had a new coating of wax oil underneath every other year. I think it’s safe to say it’s led a pampered life!
Im asking £50000. I believe this is a fair price given the rarity, spec and condition of the car, and with prices only headed one way I’m in no rush to sell (don’t you hate it when people say that? “I know what I have” lol). I guarantee that whoever comes to look at it will be blown away by the condition and will not want to let it get away, just like I was all those years ago
