54 Plate Honda CB1300S red & white
Location: West Midlands - Bicton Heath
Swap Value: £3.000+
Description:
54 Plate Honda CB1300S red & white naked muscle bike + performance mods
I bought this beautiful muscle bike off the second owner who had several bikes and just didn’t use it (literally at all!). I set out over last winter to carry out all the work to make it my last big road bike. So I did following:-
Full service oil & filter changes (Shell advance synthetic oil & Champion filter).
New Denso iridium plugs.
Coolant system flush & new coolant
Replaced the front callipers with gold FireBlade 954 ones (better feel and stopping power). New Hel brake lines and new DOT 5 fluid. New sintered EBC HH pads.
New brake fluid in the rear calliper which has been cleaned and greased.
New Motobatt battery
New Honda Voltage regulator (blew the headlight a bulb and checked it was over charging)
New Osram day breaker headlight fitted & led side light.
New Honda original mirrors & levers
New top of the range DID ZVMX 530 gold chain along with front and rear sprockets.
Tyres replaced with a set of Bridgstone BT023’s (around 2k put on them so loads of life left in them)
Performance mods:-
The originally heavy and ugly exhaust has been replaced with a lighter complete Akrapovic system.
A new K&N performance air filer.
Power commander fitted to take advantage of the performance parts, mapped for the complete exhaust system and filter upgrade.
A Scottoiler added to increase the efficiency of the drive system.
Puige dark tinted screen to keep the wind blast off (works well and looks nice)
R G paddock stand bobbins custom fitted (no centre stand due to the new exhaust).
For a 15 year old bike it has done an extremely low 12,160 miles (less than 10k by the original owner and around 2k in my ownership).
Comes with 2 keys and all originally supplied books /manuals. There’s also a box full of bits (most are the original bits).
Mot’d until: - 25.02.2020
Taxed until: - 1.04.2020
As I mentioned I did intend to keep it as my last ever road bike and do some serious mileage but touring isn’t really for me and it’s also a big heavy beast. It’s not the easiest to manoeuvre around the garage/drive. It’s simply not going to get used so really needs a new owner to take advantage of my hard work and expense.
As with any second hand machine there are always points that need addressing for it to be perfect (there are only two point that I can think of that need mentioning, first is the front mudguard has cracked around the mounting points as I forgot to tighten it back up properly and the second is the tank has a very slight mark by the filler cap. (If I was keeping it there’s a brand new carbon fibre one on the bay @£90).
It’s a cracking example of what is a proper muscle bike, low mileage very straight, never damaged or dropped. In the best colour scheme and style.
Still taxed and insured so can be ridden away
