Description:
When looking for an rx8 to purchase I searched high and low for an immaculate model and after lots of wasted time finally came across this one.
Exceptionally clean R3, no rust issues on side sills, as is common on these, and all arches, bonnet and boot bubble free.
Prior to my ownership there is unfortunately little history so it is unclear if it has ever been rebuilt but its performance would suggest so, starts on the button hot or cold, runs perfect and pulls strong.
Being the R3 model it boasts many additions over the series one including Recaro interior, uprated suspension, lower geared rear diff for better acceleration yet a higher 6th gear for better motorway mpg and of course the updated bodykit/wheels/lights/spoiler. Bose sound system, climate control, cruise control etc as standard.
I come from a long history of rotary ownership including Rx7s and 8s, I have used a wealth of knowledge to bring this one up to a very high standard, work very recently carried out includes:
- Replacement of common sump pan corrosion using genuine mazda sump and stainless stud/nut kit.
- Coolant system flush and replacement with genuine Mazda FL22 coolant.
- Genuine Mazda revision C coils, Magnecor HT leads and NGK specific plugs.
- Ryan Rotary performance uprated engine mounts in limited edition red anodised.
- Front and rear Mintex discs and pads including caliper slides and shims.
- Wheels freshly refurbished, in as new condition, with brand new Michelin pilot sport 4s all round.
- Pettit racing R3 specific exhaust with 3 inch resonated decat.
- All fluids replaced, brake, gearbox, rear diff etc.
- Engine oil and genuine specific R3 filter replaced every 500 miles.
Car drives perfect, no noises or hidden gremlins, air con works well, Recaro bolsters not damaged as is typical, bodywork very clean bar a few expected stone chips and age related marks.
Lovingly cared for and gently driven, maintained to the highest standard by a well experienced rotary/Mazda enthusiast.
MOT has just expired and I haven't got it booked in due to needing to swap out the decat. If it sells as is then exhaust and decat will remain on the car and the original exhaust/cat can be supplied. It absolutely won't fail on anything, it's in great condition - just down to my being busy with work and haven't had time to remove the decat.
If I mot it the standard exhaust will go back on and the performance one will not be included.
The underside has also been corrosion treated with a clear film protector so you can be assured no rust is being hidden. the cavities, channels and sills have been waxed with Bilt hamber throughout so this example should be much more corrosion resistant than other 8s.
Weekend or evening viewings only, test drives will be as passenger only. I am more than happy to offer advice to any potential new rotary owners and will include a bottle of premix with sale.
In conclusion an exceptionally clean RX8 which is getting hard to find and the top of the range R3 model too. All mechanically sound and drives/starts perfect, wants for nothing shes ready to go. Surely a future classic and potential investment.
Genuine reason for sale. Daily ate its turbo and died so need funds for a new family car. (Note: Private plate not included).
