Description:
So I’m fairly certain I’m ready to part with the Astra, I’m looking to get back behind the wheel of an EP3 again.
So the Car is a 2007 (KH57TZA) Astra H VXR 2.0T 240hp, Mileage is 116,001 roughly 8500 miles a year.
Parts listed below have been replaced as part of the rebuild or general maintenance in the last 18 months (2500 miles forged rebuild)
Spec:
Z20LEH engine (under piston oil squirters & no balance shaft)
OEM VXR pistons
Replacement Crankshaft factory tolerances, polished no regrind
FCP steel rods
ARP 2000 Rod bolts
King main bearings
King big end bearings
OEM Headbolts
OEM Main cap bolts
OEM Gasket set
82 degree cool running thermostat and new housing
Silicone oil cooler coolant pipes (factory ones are known for perishing and leaking)
Black oil cap
New Battery with 4 years warranty left
New 1.9 CDTI Radiator (much thicker offering better cooling for an OEM upgrade)
Magnetic sump plug in since rebuild and has been nice and clean since running in oil changes
Lifters are tappy when the engine warms up.
Gearbox is nice and smooth, no movement in gearstick under load, no nasty noises and engages gear nicely
Currently running Titan sintofluid 75w-80 gearbox oil replaced 2500 miles ago
Sach Slave cylinder from A&E motorsport
The Turbo is a Hybrid K04 core with a lightweight Billet 11 blade compressor wheel from Turbo Rebuild UK which features upgraded 360 thrust bearing, race thrust collar, heavy duty journal bearing and cut back exhaust blades improving spool up time and efficiency rated for 330bhp
I have got a new exhaust manifold for the car which can be seen in the photos supplied by turbo rebuild as well.
The recirculation valve has been removed and a TX autosport recirc blank has been fitted which gives the turbo a really nice flutter
Exhaust wise the car has a 3 inch stainless steel TX autosport down pipe and 200 cell sports cat, the centre silencer has been removed but the factory backbox is still in place so it’s subtle when pottering around town but plays a good tune when you get chance to through the revs, however the original exhaust parts are feeling their age now (13!) and it does have two small blows in the cat back pipe but I have since bought a custom Stainless cat back exhaust to replace the original tired parts which is included in the sale of the car. Down stream lambda sensor has also been replaced when the downpipe and cat were fitted.
On the intake side the it’s got a Sprogley Motorsport 80mm crossover delete In satin black which removes the crank case oil breather pipe from the inlet as well as giving a less restrictive intake and nicer induction noise, it also has the correct MAF extension cable and a Proram air filter, this is less than 100miles old so still looks nice and new! I’m sure I still have the standard pipe work which is also included with the car
Inside you’ve got the standard VXR Recaro half leather seats, Genuine Vauxhall mats and a turbosmart boost gauge. The car is fitted with a CD70 NAVi headunit which has unfortunately stopped reading discs however the car does have Aux, all the electric windows and mirrors work as they should, the heaters however only work on full, I believe it’s something to do with a switch in the glove box, the car is a keyless entry/push to start model and I have a main and a spare key, sport mode button works accordingly and the car does actually boost to 20psi which I believe isn’t stock but the previous owner mentioned nothing of a remap, the car has no warning lights on the dash.
The car does have an ugly side, two of the wheels were professionally repainted (N/S) however the drivers side wheel hasn’t had any work to it and currently does look kerbed, I would be happy to sort that out to the same level as the drivers side rear wheel which I painted myself I will include pictures of this.
The passenger door has a scuff on it from a car park ding, you can’t really see it in the pictures but when you know what you’re looking for it’s easy to spot in person.
The spoiler has some lacquer peel and a spot on the roof too.
The car is still on a Genuine front bumper and not the ABS copy however it has had a repair in the past on the lower lip after it was cracked so there is some fibreglass behind it to strengthen the bottom lip up, i wanted to replace it eventually haha and I also painted the bumper myself so it also lacks the professionals touch
