Mk2 golf gti classic project VAN

Regrettably thinking of parting ways with my golf. I’ve owned this for some time now but I am unable to find the time to give it the attention it deserves.

Firstly the car is out of mot. I genuinely haven’t put it through a new test so I am unsure what (if anything) it needs to get through a new one.

The car is a 3 door early (type 19) gti 8v in silver. Pirelli p slot alloys with good tyres all round.

The body is nice and straight although there is some small areas of rust that could do with being dealt with.

The car is totally standard, starts and drives. It would make for an ideal restoration and future investment as they are only going up in value.

Things wrong with it….

Sloppy gear linkage. Common problem with these cars but it comes with a full new linkage kit so easily sorted.

Inner wing (where the bonnet hinge attaches) will require some welding.

Drivers seat bolster is worn through.

Passenger window winder is broken. Both doors have seen better days and ideally need replacing / reskinning.

Various other little bits. As I say the car is abit tatty but complete, running and driving.

I am too busy with work to do anything with it at the minute and I can’t see anything changing any time soon so putting it on here to see what I get offered. Ideally I am after a Vito dual liner.

I have some spare parts for it. brand new front and rear shocks (still boxed in the boot) gear linkage kit, spare fuel metering pump, window mech, top mounts and a few other bits.

As you can probably tell by how long it’s been listed for, I am in no rush to get rid, the car is currently tucked away in a garage so not really in my way.
