2009 BMW 5 Series 520d Automatic Business Edition.

130k on the clock in immaculate condition. No dents, scrapes or ‘age related marks’. It really is immaculate. There's a few small marks on the wheels but nothing major as you can see from the pictures.

Full service history. The timing chain was changed in November. At this time, the engine and gearbox underwent a full health check and any internal parts showing signs of wear were replaced. The work was undertaken by BMW Master Technician, James Deegan and is still under warranty until November. So basically the engines like new.

Mechanically and cosmetically, the cars perfect. No knocks or bangs or any other horribleness. I’ve had it for 3 years and put 30k on the clock and it's been flawless. In November I committed to keeping it, basically forever, heaven me having the timing chain done and the engine checked over.. Regrettably, now I'm being forced into getting rid.

The car comes with every possible optional extra at the time it was made. Front and rear fogs, cruise control, speed limiter, sat nav, air con, 6 disk CD changer, tinted windows, M Sport front grilles, front and rear parking sensors, boot lighting, upgraded rear seat centre console, heated seats, full leather seats and door cards, and then some. There isn't a better spec’d 2009 520d on the road.

The colour is black on the log book but it’s a special edition colour (I forget the name) so it's jet black in sunlight and a deep blue in the shade.

I’ve also had a detachable towbar fitted with full electrics. As you can see from the pictures, the fixture isn’t visible at all when the tow bar isn't attached. I;ve also had the front windscreen chameleon tinted. It’s totally road legal but it can be peeled off if it isn’t to your taste. I struggle a little with the glare of oncoming headlights when driving at night so had it fitted to help with that.

There is one tiny issue, one of the number plate lights doesn’t work. I’ve sat and thought about any other downsides that I need to mention and I really can't think of anything, that's it.

The reason I’m getting rid is that I need a 4x4. I entertained the idea of running 2 cars but common sense prevailed and now here we are. I’m looking to swap for maybe an X5, Q5, XC90, Toureg or something of a similar size. I’m looking for either a straight swap or an upgrade (my car plus a few grand your way)

The MOT runs out end of March but I’ll have it retested if I find the right car to swap for. It will also come fully valeted.
