Description:
Here’s our Escort we built recently, it’s no oil painting but for 49 years old it’s a superb example, starting with the important there is absolutely no welding needed at all! It’s completely solid!! As you can see she’s a LHD version imported from Serbia (hence why she’s so solid). Let’s start with modifications, new bits etc, loads of spares to go with her including a set of genuine mk1 Mexico wheels!

Interior is pretty much brand new and in stunning condition, new carpets, seats and headlining, no faults there at all, Dash is really clean, not brand new it’s original but not damaged, all locks and ignition fit one key! I have spares also!
Exterior is amazing for 1973 (49 years old), obviously has its marks and little blemishes here and there but generally very respectable and genuine! Stickers weren’t expensive so again respectable but not perfect, my fitting skills aren’t upto much. Bonnet has been touched up with a pen, it’s under the stickering, looks shit but not going to be paint the whole car just for a little touch up, aerial missing or partly missing, both front bumper ends are plastic not the genuine chrome, could benefit from a repaint.
Engine has been stripped and has had a freshen up with full gasket and seal kit, new clutch and nut and bolt kit, could benefit from some fine tuning, I think the tappets want adjusting off a little bit hasn’t done more than 2 miles since the engine build so hasn’t had time to settle in, just runs a tad lumpy when cold.
Undercarriage is solid, more than likely has had some welding in the past but is really solid and clean, the rear looks untouched, all sills, inner arches, battery tray and wheel well are totally mint and require no attention, some white underseal and the rest black, we didn’t want to over do it for no reason so left it as it is now incase someone wants to remove it all and repaint the underneath.
Split rubber in OSF ball joint, the nuts that come with the wheels are crap so we’ve used 2 of the genuine originals on each wheel for safety, again, buyer can purchase a set of choice, also left the centre caps untouched for buyers preference. Will be Having a brand new set of rear shocks as they’re weak and scrub t the tires when being driven. We’ve left the front fogs not wired up, again preference to wether buyer wants them on a toggle switch or linked into the full beams, Wiring is under the dash ready though.
Lots of paperwork a folder full of import stuff, full V5 and many receipts for purchases.
Can be driven no problem, starts stops and drives, viewing welcome after 23rd May, based in South Wales. Please don’t take offence but we have terrible roads where we live so don’t be offended if I’d rather take you for a drive (don’t want it broken)
