VW T4 2.4 diesel LWB Pop Top

Volkswagen t4 camper 2.4 reliable diesel engine.

A sought after model -long wheel base , pop top , barn doors

Registered as a motorhome on the logbook which is great for cheap insurance.

All welding was done for its last mot leaving the bodywork in good and solid condition for its age.

Van battery- only used for the engine as all others electronics run off the leisure battery.
Leisure Battery charging - 130w solar panel mounted on the roof , alternator also connected to get that extra charge whilst driving and allowing “off grid” camping.

Has had the 5th gear mod with better ratio

Cambelt and water pump and fuel pump belt and auxiliary belts all done in April 23 with receipts to prove

18” red and black alloys

Performance twin exhaust so it hums as it drives by but isn’t too excessive.

Bad engine/ body bits

-the van has been wrapped in vinyl and it’s not the best job I’ve ever seen but it does look good and only has noticeable joins when you start hunting. (The last owner was an older lady and I think she may have been taken advantage of considering the price she paid) . I have photos of what it looked like prior to the wrap , it’s been done to hide the paint fade.

-oil leak (you won’t find a t4 without one though)

-no service history / paperwork as the last owner had put it in a “safe place”

INSIDE
4 berth - our current arrangement is pop top sleeps my teenage son ,my 11 year old daughter sleeps across the front on a bed that sits door to door and me and my wife sleep on the rock & roll bed.
The pop top can apparently sleep 2 but I’d imagine it would be very cosy!
Pop top has boards that slot in for the bed (stored under rock and roll bed), so when they aren’t in use it offers plenty of head room.

5 seat belted seats (as on logbook)
Front seat folds down and also swivels so that 4 people can face in together .

Table sits in the middle great for card games

2 burner hob with gas bottle stored in a metal gas safe for safety ,
sink with cold running water and bottles stored in a cupboard for easy emptying .

Lighting is switched to allow you to light up individual areas , LED mood lighting under counter to set the scene!

Room for a toilet (not included) and hidden behind a curtain.

Heating - Planar diesel heater provides heat by taking minimal amounts of diesel from the main diesel tank (I’ve never noticed it actually move the needle) .

Stereo is wired from the leisure battery , fitted with Bluetooth and speakers in the front and back.

1000w with 2000 peak streetwize Inverter allowing use of plug sockets and great for charging phones or using a low watt kettle/toaster

SUMMARY
An amazing eye catching T4, these are very sought after and with it being the long wheel base it’s great for a family but with the benefit of fitting into most car park spaces and under height barriers (please check individual barriers).

It is ready to be used as it is, it will provide plenty of fun and adventurous times. It’s comfortable, warm and you can cook whilst stood up and empty yourself into the toilet …not really camping ,more Glamping!
