Humber Barge
Location: South West England - Highbridge
Swap Value: £50.000+
Description:
Former grain barge. The total accommodation available is in excess of 215 square metres (that's almost twice the size of the average 3 bedroom house) and, as the photos show, work on constructing a new roof/deck and large wheelhouse are already well underway - the framing/fabrication is largely complete and is now ready for the sheet steel covering and glazing. There are two cavernous holds measuring some 15m long x 5m wide x 3m high. There is also a cabin at the front and a large engine room and ballast tank at the rear. The current works being progressed also include a large wheelhouse/deck structure measuring some 13m x 4m. A double width staircase has been installed and there is full head height throughout the vessel. The design of Tirley is such that there is considerably more usable space than similar size 'Dutch type' barges.
Tirley is powered by a 6cyl Gardner engine.
The hull is in good order, with hull thickness readings averaging 9mm and underwater weld seams were renewed prior to repainting. The hull has been blasted and covered with a very high quality two part epoxy barrier coat designed for use in offshore marine industries.
Open to all swaps.
