Description:
Hi Welcome to my listing for this top spec Qashqai.
I bought it as a non runner due to clutch pedal being on the floor and fluid leaks. Changed the clutch slave and master cylinder and she now changes gear perfectly and has done around 1000 miles.
Few more jobs to do to make perfect. The jobs I know of are as follows.
1.) The engine management light comes on under hard acceleration so I suspect that some DPF/EGR type attention is required. It still reaches and maintains motorway speeds if you don't floor it.
2.) It needs a clock spring for the steering wheel to put out airbag light and reenable steering wheel controls. There are Youtube videos on how to do this and it doesn't look like hard job.
3.) Investigate whistles and whirring noises when driving. I'm not sure what this is, it sound like a wheel bearing but could be drive shaft related I guess, or even some uneven tread on the tyre. The whistling could be turbo related, which I suppose could link to the EML, but I'm not convinced it's anything major, might just be air escaping from somewhere in the turbo plumbing. I've had cars with failed or failing turbos before and this is not like those examples.
4.) There is an issue where the passenger front door does not open from the inside. We have just been winding down window and opening using the outside handle, again though, the forums describe an easy fix for this common problem.
Other than these somewhat more serious issues, I believe this is an excellent, high spec vehicle that will be fantastic with a bit more tlc. The retractable roof lining works fine for the fantastic panoramic glass roof. The reverse camera works well. The keyless entry is the same as on my Lexus and a great addition. The fuel economy on these 1.5 engines is excellent. The leather interior is comfortable and smart and the car looks in decent shape despite some cosmetic blemishes. Hopefully you agree with me that this looks a smart vehicle with lots of life left in it when you see by the pictures.
I've pictured the main ones I think, but to summarise said cosmetic issues:
One door mirror has poorly silliconed in glass. whilst the other seems to be held on with two screws.
There is a tear in the drivers leather seat - not too noticeable.
There are some light scratches on the NS rear quarter.
There are a couple of smaller dings elsewhere on the body.
Some of the chrome coating on some trim bits is coming off, most notably on the internal door handle.
One of the rear lights has a small crack in it.
I think that about summarises the car as honestly as possible. We have used this car to potter round town which it is fine for but we've also taken it on a few longer journeys including a 5 hour round trip to Manchester and back.
