Description:

TRIUMPH STAG 3.0V8 AUTO

HWK 13L is a very correct, superbly presented Triumph Stag that comes with a full history from new warranting the mileage of just 66,200. Not only does our Triumph have the provenance of full history, service stamps, original service invoices, MOT certificates back to its first test at three years old, tax discs back to 1976, it was supplied new to its North London first owner with factory air-conditioning. The Stag also retains its original passport to service book, PVC Stag wallet, factory hard top and is presented in fabulous, unmolested condition in its correct factory supplied colour of Sienna Brown with Tan upholstery.
This low mileage, low ownership car has driven to us from a local regular customer, and it goes without saying we are delighted to have the car. Rarely do we find such exceptional original surviving Triumph Stag's with impressive paperwork and provenance. The car has been incredibly well maintained right throughout its life and its St Johns Wood, London based first owner clearly maintained it with no expense spared as the invoices suggest.
The Stag was supplied new directly from Standard Triumph Sales Ltd at Coventry and PDI checked on the 22nd June 1973. Early history with the likes of Henlys London NW9 (1203 and 6847 miles), Carn & Duckworth Auto Engineers in Camden (13775, 18170, 21669 miles) Maida Vale Service Station (24575 miles), St. Johns Wood Motors Ltd (25302, 27427, 27469, 28100, 28404, 29089, 29128, 31614, 32682, 32700, 36140 miles), Dutton Forshaw (33243, 34872, 35932 miles), Blenheim Motors (London) Ltd (four invoices) and latterly Five Star Autos (Hampstead) Ltd (seven invoices) demonstrate the no expense spared maintenance whilst with its first owner of sixteen years over the 50722 miles he covered in the car.

Since 1989 the Triumph has covered a further careful 16000 miles with history on file for servicing, replacement brake and suspension components, alternator, exhaust system, tyres, steering rack, water pump, various gaskets, hoses, and general upkeep and maintenance. The Triumph has been kept in excellent mechanical order throughout its entire life and has driven to us in strong condition throughout. The car is notably very impressive to drive and feels quick and very responsive. The 66200 miles Triumph V8 engine is fabulous and benefits from a rebuild during its early life with its first owner, the automatic gearbox is lovely and smooth, the power steering feels first class and the car handles superbly.

HWK 13L presents superbly with a gleaming Sienna Brown paint finish and the body panels are lovely and straight and clearly demonstrate this has never been a car left to deteriorate. The car is structurally excellent, the brightwork is impressive and the largely original Tan leather upholstery has lovely patina. The car comes with an excellent soft top and factory hard top in very good condition, and the engine bay and boot compartment present very well. This is a beautifully kept original car that has had the right level of upkeep and improvement throughout the past 50 years to ensure its spent almost its whole life on the road, and kept looking in lovely condition throughout.
