Now then all you Sportster addicts, especially those of you with a penchant for rubber.
Offered up for sale with the possibility of a px for another motorcycle is a 2006 XLC 1200 Sportster.
This is one of the last of the carb version of the rubber mounted motor.
Ludicrously high knuckledragger bars. OK if they are your thing. Deffo not mine as I cant touch the floor when hanging from them what with me being a Short 4ss.
Now for the nitty gritty as I aint out to pull the wool over anyone's eyes.
This young lady is registered as a CAT N (Non Structural) insurance loss.
Damage sustained as follows
Slightly bent front forks. (Now straightened but its up to you if you use them as is or fit new stanchions £125 each from HD)
Front mudguard dented.
Was a non runner as the bars folded forward severing the wiring to both switch gears. (Now repaired)
Rear near side foot rest broken. (Might have one I can throw in.)
Throttle twist grip rubber split.
That is it.
Starts rides and stops as it should.
To be fair she is quite a tidy low mileage bike. Cheap at the price for the obvious reasons. V5 will have to be applied for as insurance companies take them. Simply fill in a form and send it off. There is no charge from DVLA for a new one due to it being an insurance jobbie
If she dont sell I'll stick my trike axle on her and sell her as a trike for a lot more.
