Key Features:

Robust Steel Construction:** In 2016, we replaced the original wooden cabin with a custom-built 4mm steel cabin. The hull was fully sandblasted and in 2024 overplated with 5mm steel up to the first rubbing strip along with extra upper rubbing strips also reinforced with strips und the swim and the full length front of the bow. The baseplate was overplated around 2014 this has been validated by an ultrasonic inspection. The hull has been treated with 2 coats of (jotun 87) 2 pack epoxy primer, 4 coats of 2 pack ballastic black then 2 coats bitumen with all new anodes providing peace of mind for years to come.

Spacious Design:** We’ve designed Uncle Monty to be one foot taller than traditional narrowboats, offering generous headroom for taller individuals without compromising navigation through tunnels or under low bridges.

Recent Upgrades:** The boat has just been freshly painted and is back on the canal, showcasing its beautiful new look. All windows and the expansive French doors at the front are double-glazed, providing both comfort and energy efficiency.

Comfortable Living Space:** The interior has been completely refitted with high-quality marine plywood. Enjoy a brand-new bathroom featuring a composting toilet, and a modern kitchen equipped with a full gas oven, grill, hob, and larder fridge.

Versatile Sleeping Arrangements:** The king-sized bed (160cm x 200cm) easily converts to a single bed, with three spacious drawers for ample storage.

Efficient Hot Water:** Enjoy hot water from a 40L single coil calorifier, heated by a 1kW immersion heater.

Engine Efficiency:** The reliable Lister SR2 engine was rebuilt in 2018 and features a new stainless steel exhaust and a hassle-free Vetus water-cooled stern gland. All steering shaft cup and bearings were replaced in 2024 really smooth steering.
